Trip to Omaha Zoo

Since we had a long weekend for Easter (mom had Friday and Monday off, dad had Friday off), we decided to head to Omaha to visit the zoo. Although it was a little chilly on Saturday, there were several really neat indoor exhibits. We really liked the rain forest, aquarium, butterfly room, and monkey exhibit. They had monkeys that were making all kinds of crazy noises that you could hear from the other side of the zoo!

We also saw a neat 3-D IMAX movie about elephants and monkeys.

Buddy was quick to point out the pooping rhino. What is it about boys and poop, fart, butt, etc?

We went on the Skyfari (like a ski lift), but it was hard to take a picture of all of us. We hope this is what the KC zoo is currently installing because it was neat.

In the aquarium, there was a tunnel that had fish all around us. I thought it was cool because you could see the bottom side of the sting rays as they swam over you.

Spring Time Fun

What we have been up to...

We went to the Topeka mall for breakfast with the Easter Bunny. I think this might have been the first time Buddy has been up close with the Easter Bunny. We tried to take him last year, but he waved and didn't want to go near the bunny.

They also had an unsuccessful egg hunt. They took the 1 and 2 year olds down first and the 3-5 year olds ten minutes later. By the time the "big" kids got downstairs, all of the eggs were gone. Obviously, the organizers had never been to an Easter egg hunt in their lives. Of course, all of the eggs are gone in about 30 seconds no matter what the age is! Oh well, Buddy didn't mind because we stayed to play at the mall play area. He didn't notice that we didn't get any eggs until we were leaving and he said, "Where are the Easter eggs, mom?" I felt bad for some parents because they left frustrated with mad, screaming children. Grandma saved the day by having an egg hunt for Buddy at the park!

Buddy also got to go turkey hunting for the first time this spring. Although he had a little trouble staying quiet, overall he did pretty good. He is going to go again in a few weeks. He is already asking when he can get a "gunner." He has about 7 more years for that! Thanks to Grandpa for the cool hunting gear!!

Let's hope the Easter bunny stops by our house tonight!

Toy Story 3 On Ice

A few weeks ago, we went to Toy Story 3 On Ice. Grandma got us some great seats for a good price. All 3 kids loved it, and even the adults found parts funny. Ken and Barbie were hilarious. Ken had such a goofy walk that was perfect for his personality!

Here is a good pic of several characters.

I liked slinky dog the best. It's neat how they have one person as the head, and another person as the butt/tail.

The troll dolls were really cute!

Here is the clan minus Daddy (he was taking the pic). We even had lunch while we were there, and it wasn't a complete rip off! The QuikTrip at the Sprint Center sells food at it's regular prices, so we didn't have to buy $5 hotdogs. We did have to buy drinks though.
