Olympics Cake

Buddy HAD to have an Olympics cake.  Here is what I came up with.  We used his favorite candy, M&M's, to make the rings.  We are ready for tonight... are you?

Legoland

Grandma, Nonni, Drew, Alli, Buddy, Little Bro, and Sissy visited Legoland this week!  The twins were good and rode in their stroller most of the time.  We even had a little birthday ice cream (with singing) for Alli at Crown Center after lunch.  Her birthday was the day after we went.

They had many of the major Kansas City landmarks made out of Legos!  Here is Union Station, Liberty Memorial, Sprint Center, and Kauffman Center all out of Legos!  Other neat places they had were Kauffman Stadium, Arrowhead, the Speedway, the Plaza, the Art Museum, Dorothy's house, Munchkin Land, and Emerald City.  The detail was amazing.

The kids liked this Merlin ride, but their favorite part of all was the ride at the beginning.  You sit in a little car, and you get to shoot at bad Lego guys.  There is a screen that keeps track of your points as you shoot!  It reminds me of the Buzz Lightyear ride at Disney World.

Here are the boys getting some professional help to build a race car.  They had a little track you could race the car on after you were done building.  Drew really liked this part too!

Our Trip 2012

We went to Missouri for our little vacation this year. We stayed at a gorgeous cabin, but I didn't take any photos of it (we used our video camera a bunch).  It was a true log cabin decorated with animal furs and tons of camping/hunting gear.  It is being photographed for an edition of Country's Best Cabins magazine.

We went into Branson for Buddy to ride go-carts and for us to eat dinner!  He was tall enough to ride his own go-cart for the first time!  He also rode on a big track with Daddy and Grandpa!

We went out on Table Rock Lake for part of a day too!  The babies got to go on their first boat ride.  Just like Buddy when he was little, they just sat there in their life jackets.  The lady at the marina told us they wouldn't like them, but they really didn't seem to mind.  In fact, they were close to falling asleep!  This is another picture where they really do look like twins!

We rented a tube with our boat.  Buddy wasn't sure at first, but he was going full speed by the end of the afternoon!  Although short, we had a great trip.  We are hoping to go back to Branson in the fall for another mini trip.

Kansas Children's Discovery Center

We went to the Discovery Center in Topeka last week!  What a great place for kids.  We will be going back soon.

There was an infant area and Little Bro loved climbing on the rainbow!

Buddy liked the car the best.  It was a little car where kids could check oil, add fluids, and change tires!  He really likes using tools like Daddy, so this area was a hit.  He also had fun in others areas painting windows, looking at x-rays, and using saws/drills/etc to build a little wooden tractor!

We will be going back soon once the twins can crawl around!  There was stuff for everyone.  If you have never been and have small children, you should go soon!  It is in the back part of Gage Park and just opened a year ago.

The Fourth

We celebrate the fourth of July at Uncle Bones' house every year!

The 4 cousins that are all almost 8 months old!  It is going to be fun to watch these guys grow up together and be so close in age!  It's perfect because we have 2 boys and 2 girls!

Buddy is taking a short swim break for some of Bones' homemade ice cream!

Where is Buddy?  Oh, he is back in the pool...  Here are more cousins he got to play with!!

This was the one time Buddy wanted to help dad light a firework.  He enjoys watching them, but he could care less about lighting any (okay by me!!).

The twins were very cooperative even in the HOT weather!  Look at those rosy cheeks!

Sweet little cousin Ella running through the wiggly sprinkler with Billy!  The look on her face was priceless!

Catching Up

Daddy throwing hay again at Old Settlers.  He and another guy tied for first.  They had to add a layer of stacked hay to this pallet to make it taller because the tractor couldn't go up high enough!

Yay!  The babies can hold their own bottles!

Eat...Sleep...Bounce or in her case Eat...Bounce...Sleep!  Sissy does this quite often in her bouncer that she absolutely LOVES.  Seriously, I don't know what we would do without the bouncer; she LIVES in it.
